Twice each year, every lodge in the state of Massachusetts, is open to the public. The Boston media pretty much covers the entire state, so announcements in the Boston papers, and on Boston TV stations are viewed statewide. The lodges have coffee and snacks, and the members show up in full regalia. Some lodges even have Ben Franklin impersonators, and other re-enactors. The program usually results in a flood of petitions, some lodges in Massachusetts even have waiting lists, they have so many petitioners!
