If a belief is about acknowledgment of the existence of Supreme Being, if a belief does perform their standard practices or rituals, if this belief or system does have a supervisory hierarchal organization for the proper conduct of the rituals and performance by their priests, if believers or members does truly trust that participation in the ritual, along with adhering to the teachings of the tenets that a Heavenly reward is therefore expected, and just like any religion, its members were persecuted by both political and religious orders for what they believed in. Will this concept or system be also called religion?

The belief in the Supreme being is only a prerequisite for membership - a filter, if you like. Freemasonry contains no belief system, no theology and no sacraments. Therefore it cannot be a religion of itself.
