I am searching for papers/references regarding the origins of using the specific scriptural passages used during the circumambulations of the three degrees. Also, why the Holy Book is marked and opened to these passages when the Blue Lodge is opened on each specific degree.

Well i my own opinion the three degrees symbolises the birth, youth and old age of man.

looking at the firts degree see how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity, the plumb and oil oveflowing Aarons beard and finally fraility of age death and vanity.
