Post Rosslyn Chapel Architecture
Rosslyn Chapel – A copy of an Egyptian Temple!

Rosslyn Chapel is an enigmatic Scottish church built by Sir William St Clair in the late 15th Century, which has recently gained notoriety from its inclusion in Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code.

Many have commented on the Masonic symbolism expressed in the carvings and geometry of the building, with some firmly of the belief that it was deliberately designed as an accurate reconstruction of part of King Herod’s temple.

A new discovery provides the evidence that may support such claims.

An analysis of the detailed plans of Rosslyn Chapel, demonstrates that the building conforms to a simple yet highly unusual layout that was adapted from Egyptian temple designs of the New Kingdom, and therefore predates Biblical archaeology.

If this claim is accepted, then it will lead to a radical re-assessment of the origin of Rosslyn Chapel and re-open a debate that history thought was closed.
